I Have Hands

The twins walk to a big gray rock.

There are words on the old rock.

Tim reads the words very slowly.

"I have two hands, but I can't clap."

"I have a face, but I can't smile."

"What am I? Please think about time."

Tim looks at his own two hands.

"I have hands," he says with a smile.

"But this thing can't clap its hands."

Tina thinks about the word "time."

"A face and hands, but no smile."

"It shows the time every day."

"I know! It is a clock!"

A clock has two hands for the time.

A clock has a round white face.

But a clock can't clap or smile.

"You are right, Tina!" says Tim.

The old rock opens like a small door.

There is a new path behind the rock.

"One riddle down, seven to go!"

The happy twins follow the new path.
