What Do I Want to Be?
Everyone has a dream, except Yuna
Today my teacher gave us special papers in class.
Next week is our week at school.
We must real jobs and work for one day.
My friends already know what they want to be.
"I want to be a doctor," said my friend Aya.
"I want to a teacher," said Ken with a smile.
Everyone writes a on the white paper quickly.
But I sit quietly and look at my empty paper.
I do not know what I want to be.
I like many things, but I love nothing enough.
My pencil does not move on the small line.
"What do you want to be, Yuna?" Aya asked me.
"I am not yet," I answered in a low voice.
The teacher walks slowly between the rows of desks.
"You do not need a today," she said kindly.
"This week, you will try many different jobs," she said.
"Maybe one will speak to your heart," she added.
I look at the of shops and places.
There are bakeries, clinics, flower shops, and fire stations.
Each place needs a helper for just one day.
My heart feels a little but also .
Maybe I will find something new about myself.
I write my name at the top of the paper.
"I am to try," I say to myself quietly.
