The Fight After Practice
Two strong opinions and a quiet teacher
On Friday, the club practiced for two long hours.
We were trying a new and difficult song.
Yuki wanted a slow, soft, and sound.
But I wanted a faster and louder song.
"The song is because it is too slow," I said.
Yuki frowned because my words felt to her.
"You are new here, so you should listen more," she said.
We were arguing loudly while Ken held his drumsticks.
Mei was watching us quietly with eyes.
"I only want the song to sound better," I said.
"You always think you are right," Yuki answered.
My cheeks were burning because I felt .
While we were shouting, the door opened behind us.
Our music teacher was standing there the whole time.
He was listening to everything with calm eyes.
"You two have strong feelings because you both ," he said.
"A good song needs slow parts and fast parts."
We were quiet because we felt a little .
Yuki looked at me, and I looked at her.
"I am sorry I called your song ," I said.
"I am sorry too, because I was not kind," she said.
The teacher smiled while he left the rooftop.
That evening, the sky was pink and soft.
We were still a club, and that felt good.
