Have You Ever Been on Stage?
A circle of friends, one night before
On Friday night, we met on the rooftop again.
The festival was only one day away now.
Yuki was still sick and could not sing well.
We sat in a under the evening sky.
Singing together always made us feel like friends.
"I have a strange question," I said to everyone.
"Have you ever been on a real before?"
Ken laughed and shook his head very slowly.
"No, I have never played in front of people," he said.
"I have only played here on this rooftop."
"I have never sung on a either," Mei said.
Yuki whispered, "I have dreamed of it for years."
"But I have never stood on a big ."
Nobody raised a hand, and then we all laughed.
Waiting for tomorrow felt scary but too.
"Being is ," Yuki said in a soft voice.
"Singing for the first time is always ."
"I have been many times," she said kindly.
"But people can still be friends."
Her words made my feel a little smaller.
"We have practiced so for this day," Ken said.
"Playing together has made us a real ."
That night, I felt to know these friends.
Tomorrow, we would sing on a together.
