Don't Change History
The clock warns Takumi
Ken and I sat down by a small, clear river.

Ken looked at me with big, eyes.
"People will talk to friends far away," I continued.
Suddenly, a deep voice spoke inside my head.
It was the voice of the old clock.
"Stop! Do not change history," the voice said.

I closed my mouth quickly and looked down.
"Be with every single word," the voice added.
"One small change will break everything," it said.
My hands felt cold, and I nodded slowly.
"Are you okay, Takumi?" Ken asked kindly.
"Yes, I am fine," I said softly.
"Please forget my strange words," I told him.

Ken laughed and said, "You are a funny boy."
I promised myself to stay very quiet.

The clock's voice slowly faded from my mind.
The river kept flowing, calm and clear.
