Mia has always dreamed of starting a , and today her dream is finally beginning.
She has posted a short online, and three strangers have just replied to it.
Now the four of them are standing together in a dusty on a quiet Sunday afternoon.
"I have never played with any of you before," Leo said, holding his nervously.
Leo is the singer, and he has already written a few simple in his old notebook.
Nora has brought her guitar, which she has owned since she was fourteen years old.
Sam sits behind an old drum kit that he has just borrowed from his cousin.
Mia has tuned her guitar three times already, because she wants everything to be perfect.

The guitar was far too loud, and the could hardly be heard at all.
They stopped, looked at one another, and burst into embarrassed laughter.

Something strange had happened in that noisy, imperfect little minute.
For the first time, four lonely strangers had felt like part of one thing.
"Let's try it again," Leo said, and this time his voice sounded a little braver.
They played the song from the top, and slowly the separate parts began to fit together.
Mia realised that they have just created something none of them could ever make alone.
By the end of the afternoon, they had run through the same song more than twenty times.
"We are not good yet," Mia said, smiling, "but we have already become a ."
Outside, the sun was setting, and inside the , a new story had just begun.
