Three Clues
A footprint, some crumbs, and a button
Early the next morning, Mio and I went to the bakery.
The sky was still dark, and the streets were quiet.
Mr. Sato opened the door and welcomed us inside.

We looked carefully at the shelf by the window.

"There is a story behind these three things," I said.
A small means a small person or animal.
Bread crumbs show the way the thief escaped.
